These standards are made from quality hand selected 4"x4" posts and 2"x8" bases.  All lumber used is pressure treated to resist rot and decay.  Posts are drilled every 3" and tops are beveled.  The standards are then carefully sanded to eliminate splinters and give a smooth feel and appearance.  Finally the base is assembled using glue, washers and lag bolts for maximum strength.
